Unrequited – OMG you’re my person

Exclusive Excerpt:

“Were you wanting a few of those birds?” a lean man in a blue shirt and overalls asked, as he stepped up to the other side of the pen.

“Yes, please,” Gemini remarked. “Four actually, a Tom and some hens.”

Picking them up, the man made quick work of sorting out the males from females, before doing a quick count of the remaining birds.

“Tell you what, I’ll throw in a fourth hen for free if you’d like her. I’ve got too many hens here at the moment.”

“That would be wonderful, thank you,” Gemini replied, as Rogue glanced down at the cage he carried and back at the birds.

“I think we need a bigger cage,” he suggested.

“Least it’s not a bigger boat,” Gemini shot back, giggling.

“I’ll run back to the truck and get one,” Rogue offered.

“Forget it, you’ll get lost in this place if we leave you to your own devices,” added George. “That or have another unfortunate encounter with a guinea fowl.”

“Nope, only one I’ve had an unfortunate encounter with today has been you.”

“Ha, ha,” remarked George, before heading back in the direction of the truck. By the time he returned, the money for the turkeys had changed hands and Gemini and Rogue found themselves the new owners of a flock of young turkeys.

“What’s wrong? You look like you just swallowed a lemon?” George asked Gemini as he set the cage down beside the pen.

“He’s named them.”

“What? Why?”

“To make it easier to call them when we want to feed them,” Rogue admitted.

The man in the overalls snickered but had the good graces to cover it up with a series of coughs, which was more than George and Gemini managed to do, as the pair howled with laughter, prompting a series of gobbles from the turkeys, who’d fled to the other side of the pen, fortunately, cordoned off from the rest of the flock.

“What?”

“Dude, you don’t name the food.”

Rockstar Romance pre-order Alert and Cover Reveal

Rockstar Romance Pre-Order Alert

First there was Damaged Saints and their adorkable St. Bernards, sinfully delicious new singer, and the pyrotechnics incident that had been haunting them for a year.

Then there was Echoes of a Muted Song, and a formally unrequited love that blooms into a love song, despite court cases, rabid fans, and the newfound pressures of fame.

Now they’re fully emersed in their tour and anonymity is a thing of the past. As fears, desires, insecurities and longing come to light, the band members not only grow closer to one another, but the men who have sworn to protect them with their lives.

Rebel: The biggest drawback to fame? The sudden swarms of random people recognizing me and losing their minds in the process. I used to fly under the radar. Now I’ve got to get extra creative when I want to slip away for extra-curricular activities. Sometimes I’m successful, most times not. Either way, the lectures are starting to suck, especially when they’re accompanied by Steel’s piercing looks of disapproval.

Kit: There’s no way this is real. Last year, when I subbed for Blissfully Immune’s iconic drummer, Osius, I figured it was a one and done deal. Only now they need a permanent relief drummer, and guess who got the nod to go out on the road with them? Oh my Goddess, pinch me! I can’t believe I’ve just been handed my dream. I just wish I knew with a hundred percent certainty that Rebel was cool with me being back after the explosive moment we shared.

Steele: One quiet and reserved drummer, the other a damned menace of a guitarist I don’t dare take my eyes off when I’m not on duty, because he’s always looking for some mess to jump into. The only saving grace is that I’ve not been assigned to guard either of them. Damn if they aren’t slowly causing my shriveled heart to start throwing off sparks of desire. But how to keep those possibilities from imploding before we can nurture them into a roaring flame?

Exclusive Excerpt: “Uh-huh. I will be reporting this, you know that, right?”

I just rolled my eyes and nodded. “Of course you will. Look, if you’re that hung up on me being down here, then it’s a simple fix. Come back upstairs with me and hang out. The highlight reels will be on right after the game and I’m dying to see how the rest of teams fared.”

“Didn’t realize you were that into the game.”

“I played until I reached a point where I was being pulled between hockey and music.”

“How’d you choose?”

Sighing, I decided to give him the scaled down answer because the truth was twisted, and complicated enough that it still pissed me off when I thought about it too long. “Went with the one I was best at. What can I say, I like things easy.”

I winked when I said it, because flirting was always a good way to end a Q and A session before it really got rolling. Should have known it would have zero effect on him.

“You forget, I see the energy that goes into your performances and the long hours each song takes to craft. If that’s your idea of easy I’d hate to see what you consider hard.”

Chuckling, I just raised my glass to my lips and peered at him over the top of it for a moment before draining the last of my beer.
