Rainbow Snippet April 29th

Rainbow Snippets is a group for LGBTQ+ authors, readers, and bloggers to gather once a week to share six sentences from a work of fiction–a WIP or a finished work or even a 6-sentence book recommendation (no spoilers please!).

In this group you’ll find anything from romance and historical fiction to mystery and YA. The common thread is that every story’s main character identifies as LGBTQ+. The snippets could range from zero flames to full-on sexytimes, anything goes content-wise. The only rule is snippets will be 6 sentences long–one for each color in the Pride flag.

I would invite everyone to please come check out the Rainbow Snippets group, click on a link, read and comment on the writing available and get involved yourselves in this awesome exercise. The link to the group can be found HERE.  The following Snippet is from Guitars and Choices, the sequel to my debut novel Guitars and Cages. Both will be available on May 26th. With the relaunch of Guitars and Cages, as well as the upcoming sequel, I hope some of you will please consider supporting my thunderclap for the project:  https://www.thunderclap.it/projects/56310-guitars-and-choices-launch?locale=en

“Oh, she’s so soft,” Carly said as she carefully combed out Buttercup’s mane.
“Yup, and she’ll stay soft and clean as long as you remember to groom her each day after you’ve worked with her.”
“I will, I promise!”
When they were done, Carly turned and hugged him, surprising Asher, but he gently hugged her back.
“You’re really nice. Thank you for helping me not be afraid of Buttercup anymore,” she said.
“You’re very welcome, Carly,” Asher said as he let her go.
“Yes, thank you,” Carly’s father said from the stall door where he waited for his daughter.

  1. Buttercup must be amazing -- I've never known a horse to stay clean for more than 15 minutes after being turned out. LOL

    Sweet snippet.

  2. Why would Asher be so surprised to be hugged? Loved this...
