This weeks snippet is from Guitars and Cages 2, which is currently set to be submitted to my publisher, Wayward Ink, on January 15th (or perhaps before).
I wanna line my stomach with real food before you start
serving me up snails, eels, foie gras and that patty crap.”
Conner scrunched up his nose, blinked, confusion written all
over his face as he looked at Asher,” What in the world are you talking about?”
“That duck liver stuff, God that’s disgusting, and I don’t
care who it offends, I do not eat caviar, ever Conner, I mean it,” Asher said,
sticking out his tongue like a little kid.
Conner couldn’t help
but laugh. “Oh God you mean pate.”
“Yeah, patty, sheesh that’s what I said,” Asher grumbled.
“No. Pate,” Conner corrected, emphasizing the enunciation.
“I don’t care how you say it; it looked like a patty of
ground up, uncooked meat to me.”
For those who might be interested in Guitars and Cages, you can read more about it Here. Check out a sample chapter, and feel free to explore the rest of the site.
Oh, I imagine his horizons will expand before this story's finished.
ReplyDeleteWell in this case, they were going to dinner with Conner's parents, fortunately for Asher, Conner doesn't prefer such rich foods lol
DeleteI'm on Asher's side.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious about these two -- seems like they're from different worlds.
They are, but they have more in common than they do differences. :)
DeleteAsher's hilarious. He sounds like he just needs a good plate of steak and chips. I can't wait to read this :)
ReplyDeleteSteak and Chips would have been perfect for Asher, Conner too, really, but the folks picked the restaurant.
Deleteaww bless him. I sympathise. I feel the same way about sushi.
ReplyDeleteI felt bad for him just writing it lol
DeleteLOVE this book. Asher's a blast. The snippet's great and gives a good flavour of the whole story.
ReplyDeleteAsher really has his moments in this book where he lets his snarkyness come through.
DeleteLOL! The boy is going to have his taste buds educated?
ReplyDeleteWell, fortunately for him, it doesn't come down to having to eat the pate
DeleteI'm with Asher! What is Conner thinking? :)
ReplyDeleteLOL poor Conner just wants to survive dinner with his folks lol.
DeleteFun snippet. Poor guy! And dinner with the folks sounds veeery entertaining :D
